Connecticut River Eco-Excursion – Your Cabin Fever Reliever! The Eagle Flyer is a unique 2-1/2 hour round trip eco-excursion in the Connecticut River Valley. Trees stripped of their foliage afford clear views of the surrounding forest and the Connecticut River; wildlife can be observed from the cozy confines of heated vintage rail cars. Master Wildlife Conservationists from CT’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will be onboard to share their knowledge of the wildlife that calls the Connecticut River Valley home.

The Eagle Flyer is pulled by our vintage diesel engines and departs from Essex Station. The train will make stops at Deep River, Chester and Hadlyme Stations to pick up passengers. First Class seating offers individual leather back chairs and cash/credit card food & beverage service at your seat. Enjoy a sandwich and a warm bowl of soup, all made fresh right here at the railroad. Coach seating offers padded back bench seating and the opportunity to walk to the onboard dining car for food & beverage purchases. Both First Class and Coach cars are heated for winter comfort.
