{Dancers on Stage}

Share the magic and pageantry of the world’s most beloved ballet with friends and family of all ages.  New York City Ballet sensation, Sara Mearns, "the great American ballerina of our time," returns to The Garde Arts Center in New London for another breathtaking performance with Eastern Connecticut Ballet. New London’s own “Nutcracker” is both a holiday tradition and a tour de force.

Sharing the spotlight is Jared Angle from NYCB alongside more than 100 professionally trained dancers from ECB. Francis Veyette, former Principal with Pennsylvania Ballet, and Chloe Freytag, former Miami City Ballet dancer, also join the 16th season of this holiday favorite. Thirty-four musicians from Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra perform Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece.

Join Clara on her spectacular journey around the world. Applaud her brave-hearted Nutcracker, The Snow King and Snow Queen, sailors and pirate rats, the comical Mere Gigogne, waltzing flowers, dancing snowflakes, and of course, the exquisite Sugar Plum Fairy. Sail away on an enchanted ship from a seaport very much like New London in the 1850s and watch a battle on the high seas and a snowstorm in the Arctic.

Live music and classic ballet in the tradition of Balanchine make this “Nutcracker” simply unforgettable.  Performances are Saturday December 9, 2017 at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday December 10, 2017, at 1:30 PM.  A discount of 50% off regular ticket prices is offered to active military personnel and their families for the Saturday evening performance only. Contact the Box Office for details on this special offer.

Tickets are available at The Garde Box Office. Call 860-444-7373 x1 or visit
