The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) Dance Department presents Giselle, a ballet by Adolphe Adam, on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Millard Auditorium at the University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford.  Tickets are currently available, but seating is limited.  Admission to each performance is $10. A timeless story of love and betrayal, Giselle is one of the most famous ballets in history. A romantic ballet in two acts, Giselle features a trusting peasant girl, a love-struck nobleman, and a cast of ghostly spirits who dance their victims to death. First performed in 1841, Giselle continues to hold a place of honor in balletís rich history. A fresh incarnation of an iconic dance classic, Giselle promises a captivating and affordable summer experience.
The Fuller Music Center is handicap/wheelchair accessible with parking spaces to the North side of the building, with an entrance ramp leading to the first floor.  It has an elevator for easy access to other floors, and its second floor exit is equipped with push-button automatic doors.
History and Mission

The Hartt School Community Division is a comprehensive community arts school providing instruction in music and dance for individuals of all ages and experience levels. The mission of the Community Division is three-fold:
To provide programs for talented young performing artists with career aspirations
To serve pre-collegiate students in open admission programs in music and dance
To inspire adults with programs in general music and dance
With locations in West Hartford, Hartford, Simsbury and Middletown, the Hartt Community Division serves students throughout Connecticut.
The Community Division was founded in 1920 by Julius Hartt and Moshe Paranov, and developed concurrently with the Hartt College of Music, now The Hartt School, which merged with the Hartford Art School and Hillyer College to create the University of Hartford in 1957.
The Hartt School Community Division is a comprehensive community arts school providing instruction in music and dance for individuals of all ages and experience levels. As a division of the nationally recognized Hartt School of the University of Hartford, the Community Division is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Pre-Collegiate Arts Schools. It is also an active member of National Guild for Community Arts Education, and is viewed as a national model for community schools based on university campuses.

From I-91 North and South: Take exit 35-B . Follow Route 218 West for approximately 4 miles. At the junction of Routes 218 and 189, take a left onto 189 (Bloomfield Avenue). The University of Hartford is 2 miles ahead on the left.

From I-291: Take exit 1. Follow directions for I-91.

From I-84 East and West: Take exit 44 - Prospect Avenue. Follow Prospect Avenue toward West Hartford. Prospect Avenue ends at the junction of Route 44. Take a right onto Route 44 (Albany Avenue). At the first light take a sharp left onto Bloomfield Avenue. The University of Hartford is a half mile ahead on the right.
Directions to Community Division from The University Entrance
Use the University's main entrance at the traffic light. Go straight past the University of Hartford Magnet School, and East Hall. Park in lot D, which will be on the right. The Community Division is located in the Alfred C. Fuller Music Center, which is directly across the street from lot D. Use the entrance closest to the road
The Community Division Office is in room 19 - 20.

On-Campus Parking
In lot D, please remember to park in regular spaces (i.e. not in faculty parking or at the end of rows in unmarked areas). Public Safety will ticket cars that are not parked properly and/or cars that do not display a proper parking permit. Students or parents may pick up a Community Division parking permit in the Community Division office. Please display this card on your car's dashboard when on campus. In addition, please do not park in the designated drop-off/pick-up area in front the Community Division office on the campus road.
