Visiting Artist Alexandria Wong

Alexandria Wong has been building Web sites for a variety of clients for over 13 years. Though Alexandria earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, her love of traditional art inspired a Minor in Fine Arts. In the 1990s, Alexandria applied her Fine Arts experience with a rapidly growing computer technology field to become a computer Graphic Designer for a weekly trade newspaper. After several years of print design, she developed her HTML coding skills to begin a career as a Web designer.

About her work

Each Web site is carefully produced using image editing software to create and manipulate photos and illustrations, along with text editing software to produce the HTML code. A traditionalist at heart, Alexandria believes that all Web designers should be able to hand code a simple Web page. Is it necessary for a Web designer to hand code? No, but it really helps!

Alexandria also uses cascading stylesheets, PHP code and various bits of new technology to develop efficient, eye-catching Web sites that appeal to Web surfers. Promoting client messages with custom Web site design, custom graphic development or parallel services is Alexandria’s specialty.  Her clients sometimes need complex, multi-level categories and dynamic data-driven pages. For these Web sites, she even works with content management tools!
